Rachel’s project, “Lasa and Legacy: Stories of Filipino-American Resistance Told through Food”, is part docuseries, part cooking show. Through this video series, Rachel will highlight the local San Francisco history of Filipino activism, resistance, and community work while also cooking up a favorite Filipino dish. Rachel’s project is inspired by her work with Malaya Movement San Francisco, an organization that works towards democracy, human rights, and sovereignty for Filipinos in the diaspora and in the homeland.
