Philippine Dance in the Bay Area produced by Pangalay Circle (@pangalaycircle) is a community gathering that offers a workshop, intergenerational dialogues, and performances by local dance artists. Dance, a cultural touchstone, serves as a powerful medium for connecting with one's roots. For the Filipinx-American Diaspora in the Bay Area, Philippine dance has been more than a form of expression; it is a means of creating and belonging to a community, fostering a deeper connection to cultural heritage and identity. By inviting seasoned and emerging artists, we aim to explore the evolving narratives within Philippine dance, encouraging participants to see the transformative potential in their own voices, and artistic expressions.
