WEAVING YOURSELF INTO YOUR STORY:
A PHILIPPINE WEAVING WORKSHOP FOR TEENS/TWEENS
This Fall, Balay Kreative in partnership with the Children's Creativity Museum invite you to join us for a weaving workshop! Weaving practices are a powerful way to use our hands to weave ourselves into the stories of where we come from. In this workshop, students will connect to their stories by weaving them by hand using technology that humans have practiced for millennia. Celebrate Filipino American History Month by learning about traditional Filipino weaving techniques and making your own! Join us for a day-long workshop and weave yourself into the tapestry of your story. Students will learn, design, and weave their own storytelling tapestry.
Meet The Workshop Hosts
This workshop will be guided by Cristina Garcia Waters. Cristina has worked professionally as a facilitator and community builder within the arts, equity, and education sector for the past 10+ years.
