Cultural Kultivators - A Filipino American Podcast Honoring the Diversity & Richness of the Fil-Am Experience.

“Cultural Kultivators,” a podcast by Kutivate Labs and hosted by Nicole Salaver, honors the diversity and richness of the Filipino American experience while inspiring listeners to explore and celebrate their own cultural heritage.

Salaver, the Program Manager at Filipino-American arts accelerator Balay Kreative, interviews Filipino American thought leaders, entrepreneurs, activists and artists who are making a positive impact in their respective fields.

“Cultural Kultivators” launched on May 31st with Asian American studies scholar Dr. Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales as its first interviewee, followed by rapper Ruby Ibarra, and the third episode featured street artist Allison Hueman, followed by musician Nikbo (Balay Kreative grantee), and filmmaker H.P. Mendoza (Colma: The Musical, Bittermelon), on episodes five and six.

In the months to come expect interviews with actor Josh Dela Cruz (Host of Blue's Clues, Aladdin), Sarina Bolden (professional footballer, FIFA Women’s Philippine soccer team), AJ Rafael (Singer/Songwriter) and Chef Frances (Top Chef 13 & winner of Morimoto’s Sushi Masters).

As we get closer to October, and Filipino American History month, we invite you to revisit these conversations often and soak in the knowledge, wisdom, struggles and joy from these amazing people in our community.
