BAYBAYIN EXHIBITION

This event will showcase the pre-colonial indigenous Philippine script known as Baybayin, which is often referred to as Alibata. This is a FREE workshop where we will teach you the history, culture and provide you with the resources to learn to read/write the ancient scripts of the Philippines! ABOUT THE ARTIST

My name is Francis Garcia. I was born and raised here in the Bay Area. In 2018, I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Cinema at SF State. I have always been passionate for the many forms of visual arts. I’m a Baybayin artist and an avid practitioner of Filipino Martial Arts. As a Filipino American Artist in the Bay Area, my goal is to help educate and bring awareness to the numerous cultural practices of the Philippines through my art and media.
