Blank Space is a newly launched Creative Writing Workshop curated by KAT, Mikey Vee, and No Name Rod. Join us on a journey exploring various writing forms, including songwriting, scriptwriting, poetry, speeches, & more!
Through this workshop, we hope to ignite your creativity with engaging writing exercises and receive valuable feedback. You'll get insights and guidance with informative presentations on writing techniques, while exploring new genres & styles through curated writing prompts Beyond honing your skills, we're all about building a supportive community—connect with creatives from diverse backgrounds & forge meaningful relationships.
Meet The Workshop Hosts
Kathleen Damian
known as KAT is a Filipino American singer and creative, born and raised in the Bay Area. Music has been one of her biggest passions since childhood. She started out singing in church, talent shows, and open mics early on. Over time, she has been booked for college events, community events, and fundraiser events. She was previously the Director of Artist Development & Community Relations with Kollaboration SF and was involved with Traktivist Radio LA, which features global and local Asian American artists. She also works full-time as a project manager and is involved with multiple organizations and creative networks. She is committed, passionate, and excited to be giving back and making a positive impact in community in any capacity she can.
Mikey Vee
aka Mikey Vee is the founder and leader of Golden Oras. Originally a Fil-Am Hip Hop Artist from Daly City in the Bay Area, Mikey started this company to bring together like-minded creatives to help build his community through music, live events, workshops, and talent sourcing. Mikey Vee is using his music brand to further grow his business with the help of his trusted team at Golden Oras. Furthermore, as a Balay Kreative Growth Grantee, Mikey plans to utilize his resources to give back to the community that has supported him.
Rodney Manalo
aka No Name Rod, is a Filipino musician/ artist progressing in the Bay Area music scene.
Born and raised in Daly City, California, Rodney found music inspiration through street art, battle rap, & open mic poetry. This aimed his trajectory towards a passion for creative expression which lead him to pursue music and graphic designs, as well as multiple collaborative projects with Golden Oras’ founder, Mikey Vee. As one of the few members of Golden Oras, Rodney hopes to organizes interactive workshops and collaborative projects that leverage music and creativity to inspire, uplift, and foster a sense of unity within his community.
Jeff Chazer
is a producer and mixing engineer from the Bay Area. He graduated from San Francisco State University under the BECA program (Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts). Credits include Stunnaman02, Mikey Vee, Darrell Medellin, Zaldy Water, Danny Ali, DJSAY, Ceej Frankera, Shogun V, Misa James, and more. He wants to show others that genres can be anything that we want them to be and that good music is good music.
Eric Velasquez
is a fellow creative like his other teammates at Golden Oras. He loves playing guitar. His creative work is primarily focused on photography, design, and art. He would love to start my his clothing line someday and hopes to feature his artwork or photography featured in galleries in the future.
